Zombies Can't Swim!!

We made it to the water just in time to avoid the chaos erupting in downtown Seattle. We have only a rudimentary understanding of how to operate this stolen sailboat, but decided the risk was worth it. The zombie hoards jam the streets and block cars with their sheer numbers alone. The water was our only choice. We will see no zombies afloat.

We have no weapons, but found a flare gun with 6 flares in the engine compartment. Swim to the boat if you hear this, we will launch a flare each night for the next 5 days. The last flare we save in case one of us becomes infected and we have to do the unthinkable...

Supplies are getting low…

The city is now a silent shadow of its former bustling self.   Now the only sounds I hear are the muted gargling of the undead as they limp along the streets in search of fresh meat.

They say that humans are creatures of habbit…there must be some small level of humanity remaining inside these creatures because I saw crusty old Mrs. Wilbro behind the check out desk at the grocery store where I have seen her a thousand times.  She is still old and crusty…maybe a little more crusty now.

I have a few days left of food…I have never felt the pain of starving before, but the longer I go without food the more brains start to sound like a delicacy. 

Solitude is my worst enemy.   I haven’t seen any survivors for weeks and I am talking to myself more often each day.  At first I was just muttering words to myself, now I am carrying on conversations.  When I snap out of it, the depression of my situation hits me like a concrete wall.

Where is the military, coast guard and government?  Has the whole world collapsed?

I am going to make my way north.  I am a survivor, but for how long I am not sure...

ALERT - ZOMBIE MONKEYS - SHOOT ON SIGHT

My most recent setback...which I am reluctant to say was an unfortunate incident involving a pair of escaped psychiatric monkey patients.   In a surprisingly well organized attack they managed to take my backpack, most of my clothes, all my food and a flask of whiskey I was saving.

That was four days ago...

They are still at large...

It's raining now.  The undead seems to smell better in the rain.

I am leaving the campsite and heading into the mountains to a remote cabin...it's not safe here anymore.   I will send a picture of where I am...

IS ANYONE OUT THERE??

SURVIVOR'S LOG:
November 19th, 2011

It has been 13 days since the first incident...after that, everything went to hell.  

In the beginning everyone seemed ok.  No one thought the virus would ever reach us.  Then people began to die.  At first only a few, but the numbers kept climbing.  Panic turned to chaos.  Then the light grid failed, causing total darkness.

No one could have expected what happened next.  We were caught off guard in the dark.  The dead began to wake...people didn't know what to make of it.  Some tried to leave but they were soon overthrown by the undead.  The rest boarded in their windows and hoarded supplies inside their homes.

Then they came from all over.  At first it was a trickle, but after the police blockade fell they flooded the streets...shortly after, all I can remember thinking was RUN!

I have been camping outside of town for some time.  I have not seen any survivors and my supplies are running low.  Not sure know how long I have before they find me.  

I found a video tape...some guy just before he died.  The footage shows one of their weaknesses!  PLEASE VIEW THIS FOOTAGE!!!  I hope this message reaches you before it is not too late!
